๐ Cyber Shujaa: Vulnerability Assessment Lab
Problem Statement:
Scan a simulated enterprise network, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend remediation based on ISO 27001 standards.
Approach:
- Used Nmap to identify open ports
- Ran OpenVAS and Nikto for vulnerability detection
- Interpreted results and mapped to CVEs
- Recommended firewall rules and patching priorities
Tools Used:
Nmap, OpenVAS, Nikto, Kali Linux
Lessons Learned:
- How to identify high-risk vulnerabilities
- Difference between internal vs. external scans
- Importance of proper network segmentation
โ๏ธ AWS Skill Builder: Serverless Web App Deployment
Problem Statement:
Deploy a serverless photo album using S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, and API Gateway.
Approach:
- Used AWS CloudFormation to spin up resources
- Configured S3 bucket policies for access control
- Wrote and tested a Lambda function to store metadata in DynamoDB
Tools Used:
AWS CLI, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway
Lessons Learned:
- How AWS services communicate in a serverless architecture
- Importance of IAM roles and policies for security
- Troubleshooting deployment errors via CloudWatch logs
๐ง Azure AI Fundamentals Skills Challenge
Problem Statement:
Build and train a machine learning model using Azure ML Studio for sentiment analysis.
Approach:
- Loaded and cleaned data
- Split dataset into training/testing sets
- Used a pre-built NLP model for text classification
Tools Used:
Azure ML Studio, Python, Jupyter Notebooks
Lessons Learned:
- Basics of ML lifecycle in Azure
- How to use drag-and-drop modules for training
- Real-world applications of sentiment analysis
